Karting Journey:

Hi I’m James I’m 7 years old and I LOVE motorsport, especially Formula 1 but will watch any form of motorsport. When I grow up I want to be an F1 driver and to get anywhere close to there I needed to start karting.

First Time In A Kart

So back in October 2024 my Mum and Dad found out I could take part in lessons and get my Bambino license also. They found a track close to us called Three Sisters Race Circuit and they had space for me to do the lessons which was great. Once they had booked my first lesson they told me we could get my own balaclava and gloves for karting, this was so exciting and knew I wanted blue ones straight away. When they arrived I wanted to wear them all the time even when going to school I was that excited about it all. Now when booking my lessons they were told to only book 1 lesson just in case I didn’t like being in the Kart (safe to say I loved it.) I loved every single minute of those 2 days in the kart, we learnt all sorts from safety to overtaking, did a track walk learning about the best line to take and even had homework which I didn’t mind doing at all! Anyway I passed and got my bambino licence which I was so excited to have and wanted to go racing straight away, but there was a problem there aren’t many places close to us that do or hold bambino races so my instructor suggested I do some arrive and drive sessions just to build my confidence up more in the kart and gain more experience/time as I would soon be 8 and be able to go racing then, only problem was Three Sisters didn’t do any arrive and drive sessions for bambino’s. So my Mum and Dad did more research and found a place that does called Team Karting in Rochdale and this is where my next chapter begins.
