Summer 2025

So, it’s been a while since my last blog post so thought I’d catch you all up on what I’ve been up to. First, I’ve done more test days in my kart, a few at Hooton and one at Whilton Mill. My test day at Whilton was amazing and I learnt so much, first I started the day off doing a track walk with Jack, then it was time to get geared up and head out on my first session with all the other Micromax karts. Now that very first time round the track I took my time, learning how both kart and track felt and finding the best line I wanted to take. After that I was off testing the limits and seeing what I could do. Let me say was one of my best days ever!!

This summer I also got the chance to go watch my driver coach Jack racing his car in the Fiesta Junior Championship at Silverstone. I had the best time getting to meet all the team, the other drivers, I got to sit in Jacks car, and I got to watch him race! So the weekend didn’t start the best for Jack as he had an incident with another driver and ended up out in the first race with considerable damage to his car. Jacks team did a great job and managed to get the car fixed up and raceable for the second race the next morning, where he would be starting the race from 27th after not finishing the race the day before. We took our seats ready for the race to start, my dad and me were excited, my mum on the other hand was very nervous. The green flag flew and they were off, Jack was amazing, I couldn’t take my eyes off the track as I didn’t want to miss a single thing. We were on our feet cheering and shouting every time we saw him go for an overtake. Then the chequered flag fell, as the cars crossed the line Jack had worked his way through the pack going from 27th to finishing 6th!! He had gone up 21 positions! We were all so excited and couldn’t wait to get back to tell him. Then came the 3rd and final race of the weekend, again we took our seats and waited for the race to start. We stood up, cheered and shouted every time we saw him. Then the chequered flag fell, he had done brilliantly, finished the race in 2nd, he almost had 1st and I believe he would have if there had just been 1 more lap! Overall, we had an amazing weekend and can’t wait to go watch him racing again.

At one of my test days at Hooton Jack came out on track with me in a xkart kart. He wanted to get out with me so I could gain some experience like attacking, overtaking, defending, and rolling starts. We had a great time on track, and I learned a lot and gain some great experience, I also managed to maintain a consistent pace while attacking and defending. Jack and Ian have said 1 more test day on track with Jack and then they want to try and see if I can drop in one of the last rounds for indikart at Hooton so I can gain some race experience before I enter a championship next year. I do need to decide which championship I want to enter next year, which championship does everyone think I should enter next year?

Well, that’s everyone caught up on what I’ve been up to, hope everyone reading this has had an amazing summer just like me. Hopefully out testing again over the next couple of weeks at either PFI, Warden Law or Hooton, will catch you all up soon.
